Zion National Park Opens After Government Shutdown

Thanks to funding from the state, Zion National Park and its fellow Utah national parks opened up Oct. 12. Now that the government shutdown has ended though, the state will retain whatever is left from the $1.67 million it had allocated to keep Zion up through Oct. 21.

Zion Artist-in-Residence Program

Zion National Park is now accepting applications for its Artist-in-Residence Program. The selected individual gets the chance to live in a remote, historic house situated on the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive for four weeks.
