Mule Deer Inhabit Utah

This elegant animal is one of the most common in the area and can often be seen grazing on the lawns in front of park buildings.

This elegant animal is one of the most common in the area and can often be seen grazing on the lawn in front of the lodge. They range over most of North America west of the Rockies, from Alaska to Mexico. Mule deer typically avoid deep snow, but can be found everywhere from deserts to mountaintops and everything in between, including back yards. A favorite of hunters for their meat and multipronged antlers, the species is active throughout the year, but most likely to be spotted at dawn and dusk. Each spring, watch for one or two adorable fawns per female.
